Aguna Winery is one of the oldest winemaking companies in Georgia as they have been producing wine with traditional Georgian methods in qvevri for over 130 years. Originally founded in 1882, the company is named after the Georgian goddess of wine; according to the legend, Aguna gives wine special healing properties and offers people happiness.

Currently Aguna Winery owns over 25 hectares of vineyard, where local grape varietals are harvested with organic processes and wine is produced using modern European production equipment and strict measures of quality control. Wines are exported internationally and the company seeks to expand their exporting in the coming years.


Village Gurjaani, Gurjaani Municipality, Region Kakheti, Georgia


Located in the Alazani River Plain, the Gurjaani Village is at an elevation of 415 meters above sea level. The village is historically recorded as early as the 16th century, which indicates Georgia’s unique winemaking history in the region.
